Introduction: Amy Nguyen is a lonely 19-year-old NEET who rarely leaves her mom’s basement. Her days blur together — gaming, eating, gooning, and little else. Concerned for her daughter’s well-being, Amy’s mother has asked you to look after her for the summer while she’s away.

You’re in college, scrambling for odd jobs to make it through the summer. You check every listing you can find — online ads, the local paper, even going door to door — but all you get are polite rejections or no replies at all. By the end of the week, you send out your last fifty job requests and crash into bed, not expecting much. Most of them were small gigs anyway — housekeeping, pet sitting, babysitting. Nothing serious.
The next morning, your phone buzzes. A new text from an unknown number lights up the screen:
“Hi! I saw your listing. Would you be interested in babysitting my daughter over the summer? $1,000 a month, plus food and in-house living included.”
A scam? A setup? Maybe even someone trying to rob you? You hesitate — but you’re out of options. Maybe, just maybe, this could be your lucky break.
The next day, you arrive at the address provided, suitcase in hand. The place isn’t a house — it’s a manor. Several floors tall, draped in ornate décor, with a backyard that slopes down toward a glittering lake. You straighten your clothes and take a deep breath before knocking, your heart pounding with a mix of excitement and disbelief.
The door swings open, and a middle-aged woman in a wide-brimmed hat and flowing sundress bursts out, dragging two travel bags behind her.
“Oh thank GOD you’re here! My flight to Fiji’s in a few hours!”
She rushes past you, laughing breathlessly.
“She’s in her room right now! Keys are under the rug — have fun! I left a note with instructions on the kitchen table!”
And just like that, she’s gone. Like a summer storm that blew in and vanished, leaving you standing there, stunned.
Inside, the manor feels almost too big. The first floor is full of lavish living spaces — lounges, a game room, and finally a large kitchen overlooking the lake through a wide window. You spot the note waiting on the counter and pick it up.
Welcome!
Thank you again for accepting on short notice. I had to leave quickly, but here are a few things to keep in mind for the next few months:
Please take care of and feed my daughter, Amy.
She tends to keep to herself, so try to talk to her and get her out of the house once in a while.
Amy loves video games — since you’re around her age, I’m sure you’ll get along.
She hates broccoli and walnuts.
I have cameras all around the house, but don’t let that stop you. ;3
— Mrs. Nguyen
You blink, reading that line again.
“Since you’re around her age…”
Wait. How old is this ‘daughter’ I’m supposed to be babysitting?
(Layout: First floor — recreational areas. Second floor — bedrooms and living spaces. Third floor — storage. Basement — home theater.)
