Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy

Last modified June 15, 2026

1. Introduction and Purpose

NSFW Tavern is committed to preventing its platform, payment flows, subscriptions, credits, and related services from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, or any other unlawful financial activity.

This Anti-Money Laundering ("AML") Policy explains the controls we may use to detect, prevent, review, and respond to suspicious transactions or account activity. It is intended to support responsible use of NSFW Tavern and to help our payment partners, users, and service providers understand our compliance expectations.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all users, purchases, subscriptions, account credits, refunds, payment methods, promotions, and other transactions connected to NSFW Tavern.

NSFW Tavern may rely on third-party payment processors, payment gateways, crypto payment providers, fraud prevention vendors, identity verification vendors, hosting providers, analytics providers, and other service providers to help operate the Service and maintain compliance controls.

3. User Responsibilities

Users agree not to use NSFW Tavern for any illegal or suspicious financial activity, including:

  • Using stolen payment instruments or unauthorized accounts.
  • Attempting to hide the source, ownership, destination, or purpose of funds.
  • Structuring, splitting, cycling, or reversing transactions to evade review.
  • Purchasing, transferring, reselling, or redeeming credits for unlawful purposes.
  • Using the Service while subject to sanctions or other legal restrictions.
  • Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information.

We may refuse, reverse, suspend, or terminate any transaction or account that appears to violate this Policy, our Terms of Service, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

4. Payment Processing and Controls

NSFW Tavern processes payments through third-party payment providers where available. We do not intentionally support unverified peer-to-peer financial activity through the platform.

Our payment and fraud controls may include:

  • Payment method validation and fraud screening.
  • Chargeback, refund, and dispute monitoring.
  • Limits on purchases, credits, subscriptions, promotions, or account activity.
  • Review of unusual transaction sizes, frequencies, patterns, or locations.
  • Screening required by payment processors or compliance vendors.
  • Blocking transactions associated with fraud, sanctions, abuse, or high-risk activity.

5. Customer Identification and KYC Reviews

General use of NSFW Tavern may not require formal identity verification. However, we reserve the right to request additional information or documentation when we determine that enhanced review is appropriate.

We may request verification when:

  • Transactions are unusually large, frequent, repetitive, or inconsistent with normal use.
  • A payment provider, bank, regulator, law enforcement agency, or compliance partner requests review.
  • The source, ownership, or purpose of funds is unclear.
  • Activity suggests fraud, chargeback abuse, sanctions risk, account sharing, account takeover, or other misuse.
  • A user requests a refund, payout, exception, or account change that requires additional verification.

Requested information may include account details, payment ownership confirmation, government-issued identification, proof of address, source-of-funds information, or other documentation reasonably needed for review. Access to certain features may be limited until review is complete.

6. Transaction Monitoring

NSFW Tavern may monitor transactions and account activity on an ongoing basis to identify suspicious or high-risk patterns. Monitoring may be automated, manual, or both.

Examples of activity that may trigger review include:

  • Multiple failed payment attempts or mismatched billing information.
  • Repeated purchases and refunds without a clear lawful purpose.
  • Sudden changes in purchase amount, payment method, device, IP address, or location.
  • Use of payment instruments associated with fraud, chargebacks, sanctions, or abuse.
  • Attempts to bypass account, purchase, age, region, or platform restrictions.

Detection of suspicious activity does not necessarily mean a user has done anything wrong. It means we may need to perform additional review to protect the Service, users, and payment ecosystem.

7. Suspicious Activity Response

If suspicious activity is identified, NSFW Tavern may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Request additional information from the user.
  • Delay, reject, reverse, or refund a transaction.
  • Restrict, suspend, or terminate account access.
  • Block payment methods, devices, IP addresses, or related accounts.
  • Preserve records related to the activity.
  • Report the activity to payment providers, regulators, law enforcement, or other appropriate authorities when required or permitted by law.

We may be legally restricted from disclosing the existence or details of certain reviews, reports, investigations, or enforcement actions.

8. Sanctions and Restricted Jurisdictions

Users must comply with all applicable sanctions, export controls, and restricted jurisdiction rules. NSFW Tavern may restrict or block access, transactions, or payment methods where required by law, requested by a payment provider, or necessary to reduce compliance risk.

You may not use NSFW Tavern if doing so would violate sanctions, export controls, financial crime laws, payment network rules, or other legal restrictions that apply to you or to us.

9. Record Keeping

NSFW Tavern may retain transaction records, payment metadata, account records, compliance reviews, communications, and related documentation for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, cooperate with payment partners, prevent fraud, and enforce our policies.

Records are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

10. Staff and Vendor Responsibilities

Personnel and service providers with access to financial, payment, account, or compliance information are expected to follow internal security and compliance procedures. We may update training, review procedures, escalation paths, and vendor controls as our services, risks, and legal obligations evolve.

11. Policy Review and Updates

We may review and update this Policy periodically, including when we add payment methods, change service features, identify new risks, receive guidance from payment partners, or need to address changes in applicable law.

Continued use of NSFW Tavern after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
